Diversity

Dr. Michaelle Kitchen came to Wichita Falls in 1976 thanks to the U.S. Air Force. Since 1976, she has been a manager trainee for Sears; instructor and Director of Counseling for Vernon College; she presently is the Chair of the Counseling, Kinesiology, and Special Education Department at Midwestern State University.

Midwestern State University awarded Dr. Kitchen the Alpha Chi Lecturer, 2002; and the Faculty Award. She was the 2010 Tom Natale Award Winner.

An educator- trainer in Wichita Falls since 1980, Michaelle has provided training for the following organizations: ABB, Allred Prison, Board of Commerce & Industry, Boys and Girls Club, Burkburnett ISD, CertainTeed, Child Advocates, First National Bank, First Step, Howmet, Iowa Park Alternative School, IRS, Junior League, Partners In Education, Region IX, Social Security Administration, Sheppard AFB, United Regional Hospital, Texhoma Christian Care Center, W.F. State Hospital, and Wilson Family Panning.

She has served on the following boards: First Step, Inc., Child Care, Inc. Partners in Education, Junior League, Leadership W.F., and United Way.

Michaelle feels very blessed to have been able to serve the various organizations mentioned earlier and the W.F. community. Her husband of 40 years, Tony Kitchen, has always supported her in all her endeavors.
